pulled this ad because they were being accused of promoting terrorism because the paisley scarf Rachel Ray is wearing looks a little like a Kaffiyeh worn by many Arabs. Such ridiculous fear smacks at cultural prejudice to me. Are we beginning to think that anyone wearing the traditional Middle Eastern head dress is a terrorist?

Makes me sad and angry that the people in DD's marketing and advertising departments are so skittish and seemingly delicate when it comes to ridiculous assertions.
There's no logic behind such an accusation. It takes a tiny bit of thought to realize that using Rachel Ray in a scarf (which, not knowing a lot about women's fashion or traditional Arabic dress, isn't even actually a Kaffiyeh) would not do a lot to promote terrorism.
Meh.
