Joyce Caine sent me this video. In the video an interviewer picks a young African American man and questions why he supports Obama. At first, the interviewer seems to assume he is ignorant and crams difficult questions at him. Unrattled, Derrick articulates Obama's positions so well that you have to be impressed. I wish I was half as articulate.

I was interested by this video when I first saw it, so I looked into it. Turns out that although it was a chance encounter, Derrick is no ordinary bystander! He's an African immigrant and a new citizen, and also a Harvard graduate. He is a musician who has done interviews and performances and is used to being in front of the camera. He posted his own youtube video as a comment about this one.
The fact that Derrick really won the interviewer over at the end there... I LOVE this...that was incredible.
