Obama's Speech on Race
I couldn't listen to Obama's speech this morning, so I was happy to find it on YouTube. Beyond the campaign, this is a historic speech that eloquently represents what we experience in our community on a daily basis.
Yes, Arloa, it was a powerful address. My prayer is that the nation--and the church--will be able to listen beyond the din of partisan politics and consider the truth of Senator Obama's message.
I had the chance to listen to a recording of it on the drive home yesterday. What struck me most about it is that it seemed like it was above politicking...it seemed like one of those great American speeches that will be remembered for a long time, unlike most pre-election speeches. I appreciated how the speech crossed just about all racial and economic boundaries. I found myself going, 'This fellow Obama is a wise, wise fellow.'

Historic is right. I don't know if America will deal with what Barack has said or continue to ignore it, but he told it like it is.
Amazing speech.

I hope that people will take the time to listen to the whole thing--it is one of the most honest political speeches I've heard. thanks for posting it!
