Taylor Branch at the Chicago Public Library

I noticed in the book section of the Tribune that Taylor Branch will be at the Harold Washington Library Monday night at 6:00 to discuss and sign his latest book in a trilogy of the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, At Canaan's Edge. I have a commitment at that time or I would be there. This book, like the first two, Parting the Waters and Pillar of Fire, is another long one more than 1,000 pages. I read Parting the Waters last year. Branch is amazingly detailed to the point of describing what King and Abernathy ate for dinner. If you want a detailed account of the civil rights movement, this is a must read.

Great story as for me. I'd like to read something more concerning this theme. Thank you for sharing that info.
