reflections on faith and justice from an urban minister's perspective
I agree totally. I'm actually from the UK but have been living in Chicago for two years now and am shocked by the amount of homeless in the downtown area. I would LOVE to help these people out, problem is, I see many people begging for change who are definitely not 'homeless' in the truest sense. As well as that, there are some really awful people who will harass pedestrians if not given money. I've been in that situation a few times! I understand it's a desperate time at the moment, especially for thoes who have nothing. But why can't the police weed out the 'bad ones' so that the truly needy can get help?
