Compassion and Justice classes at Willow

I taught the Week Two session of the Beyond Charity: Living a Life of Compassion and Justice class at Willow Creek last Wednesday. Here's a link to the audio and video streams.

Hi Arloa,

Sorry to be so late in commenting here. So how was the response to your class? Was it well attended? I take it that this based on the book by John Perkins, Beyond Charity. Am I correct?

Blessings,

Shlomo

Yes, it was very well attended, I think about 200 people. They were very engaged and responsive. It was predominately a white audience but I think, for the most part, they want to understand what they can do about poverty and racism. I think many of them are pretty new to the discussion.

Willow is taking a new approach to their Wednesday night services and implementing this class approach. I think it is a great idea. I just did one class in an eight week series about compassion and justice. Thanks Shlomo!

Hi Arloa,

200 people? That's a good number to work with. I'm glad that you had this opportunity and I hope those who are 'new to the discussion' will continue to stay engaged and even grow deeper.

May the LORD richly bless you and your efforts in His service,

Shlomo
